Flaked Barley - 500g - Warminster Maltings

Buy Flaked Barley and add it to your base malts to give a lighter coloured beer.  It will also add some barley flavour. 

Flaked Barley has been torrefied which means that it has been specially heated which gelatinise the starch which gives less issues in the mash than normal unmalted barley, at the same time as giving a higher yield.

Flaked Barley aids in head retention, and added at higher levels (10%+) it can also be used to create a haze, and will help improve a creamy texture for real ales and stouts.

This Flaked Barley is malted by Warminster Maltings using traditional floor malting methods sourced from some of the best barley growers in the UK.
