It is lower in kilojoules than red meat, and is a great source of iron, zinc, potassium and phosphorus. Turkey can help lower cholesterol levels, and is low-GI. Turkey contains the amino acid tryptophan, which produces serotonin and helps to support the immune system.

The lamb in this diet is pasture-fed and not exposed to grains. Lamb is a good source of protein and omega 3, as well as dietary zinc, iron and other minerals.
